We have launched a Simplified Chinese translation of GENCON 2022, making one of the industry’s most popular contracts more accessible to Chinese-speaking users.
The Simplified Chinese version is a translation, not an adaptation of GENCON 2022 for Chinese law or the Chinese market. It remains based on BIMCO’s English-law contract, giving Chinese-speaking users the opportunity to read the translated version alongside the English original.
The contract can be edited, negotiated and signed via our contract editing system, BIMCO SmartCon.
The initiative is being treated as a pilot project. we have previously translated contractual material into other languages, and the experience from GENCON 2022 will help inform us whether more translations of BIMCO contracts should be developed in the future.
