Security Network
The goal of the BIMCO Security Network is to provide a forum for ship owners, ship operators, and ship managers working at the operational level to discuss the full range of security issues affecting vessel operations worldwide.
The network focuses on practical and operational security matters, supporting members through shared knowledge, real world experience, and up to date insight into both persistent and emerging threats.
Discussions typically cover the entire scope of physical maritime security, including piracy and armed robbery, smuggling activities, stowaway incidents, terrorism, war and armed conflict, and large scale migrant rescues.
The insight gained from network meetings feeds into BIMCO’s ongoing work and contributes to our role as the practical voice of shipping on global security matters.
The people behind the success

The strength of the network lies in the collective knowledge of its members, professionals who are dealing with complex, high stakes situations and who benefit from exchanging real world perspectives.
We believe in the importance of working together to enhance the safety and resilience of global shipping.
