Laytime Network

Laytime and demurrage outcomes have a direct and significant impact on voyage and trade economics. We know that our members are looking for ways to optimise laytime handling and reduce exposure, though there is often a lack of platform for laytime and demurrage professionals to support them in this niche area. The BIMCO Laytime Network has been created to address this need.

This network is a dedicated platform for professionals whose core responsibility is laytime/demurrage analysis across dry bulk or tanker sectors. Its purpose is to bring specialists together to discuss operational challenges, share best practices and explore the developments affecting their field.

The knowledge and perspectives gathered through the network will also support BIMCO’s role as the practical voice of shipping, as insights from the network may be channelled into BIMCO’s committee work and clause development.

The people behind the success

As a member of the BIMCO Laytime network, you are part of BIMCO’s volunteer community. In a forever-changing shipping industry, BIMCO could not have achieved its high level of insight and knowledge without the support of qualified and knowledgeable people with hands-on experience from shipping’s daily operations.

We believe in the power of togetherness.
