Chartering Network
The goal of the BIMCO Chartering Network is to discuss and review developments impacting members engaged in chartering ships as a core part of their business.
BIMCO Networks facilitates members sharing their experience and insight focused on professionals wanting to engage with their peers and share knowledge and get new contacts. The insight from the network supports BIMCO’s role as the practical voice of shipping.
The agenda will include contractual aspects and potential issues related to decarbonisation, IMO regulations, EU regulations and directives such a FuelEU Maritime, future fuel types and bunkering as well as safety issues. BIMCO will, on a regular basis, update the participants about ongoing work. BIMCO will channel the insight from the network meetings into BIMCO’s work, including the BIMCO Committee structure.

As a member of the BIMCO Chartering Network, you are part of BIMCO’s volunteer community. In a forever-changing shipping industry, BIMCO could not have achieved its high level of insight and knowledge without the support of qualified and knowledgeable people with hands-on experience from shipping’s daily operations. We believe in the power of togetherness.
The nuts and bolts
The Network:
- Meets online 2–3 times per year
- Provides a forum for open dialogue and inspiration
- Delivers input to the BIMCO committees
- Is open for all BIMCO members in all industry segments engaged in chartering as a core part of their business
- Also invites industry experts to attend meetings when found useful
- Is held under the Chatham House rule.
BIMCO collaborates with the network and chairs the meetings.
